The time to turn problems into opportunities:

The CIPD reports in July 2010 that enormous leadership and management challenges face organisations as Government budget cuts bite. The need for a boost in capability and qualitative management is essential to get the best from a workforce demoralised by cutbacks and cowed by the harsh winds of restraint.  According to the report ‘A big piece of leadership and organisational development work’ is required in most public sector organisations’ focusing on commercial acumen, business skills and leadership, to save money and do more with less.

The CIPD also reports there is a need in the current environment to assess the value of people, understand the real costs and how to convert that cost to a return on investment.

We are experts with a wide range of public/private sector experience, in enabling companies to come successfully through the challenges of radical change and deep cuts to deliver more productive and engaged employees within restructured and remodelled organisations, at the same time as providing sensitive approaches to those not surviving  inevitable workforce reductions.

Through organisational design, the conduct of consultation processes, management of people/post changes together with the application of effective procedures to manage deselection/reselection, redundancy and the full range of people issues that arise, Peak Practice effectively guide leaders and managers to avoid pitfalls that poorly managed and inconsistent practices bring, which often ending in the tricky arena of claims at Employment Tribunal.

Peak Practice are well equipped to serve companies at this critical time in the UK’s economic recovery to turn major challenges created by downward budget pressure, into opportunities to lay long lasting foundations for significant improvements in the return on investment per employee.

Peak Practice appreciate that success in this area does not come about from mere job/ structure redesign but from combining this with a strategic intervention to engage with employees at an intellectual, practical and emotional level – otherwise known as culture change.  Peak Practice consultants have assisted a number of organisations in reframing their approach to the ‘way things are done’ to treat  people as the agents of change and empower them to make key decisions crucial in the balance between spending cuts and improvement in service.

Contact us, without obligation, to discuss the challenges your organisation faces and to assess the kind of help we may be able to offer.

Our aim is always at least to deliver on time, on budget, meeting the full requirements of the brief. We seek to offer added value at all times, bring our whole experience to bear on the task in hand.
